Session Description:
Towards the implementation of sustainable forward-looking risk management: challenges and lessons learned
Crisis management is often mistaken for risk management. But making the switch to forward-looking risk management is more difficult than it sounds. This session will discuss challenges and lessons learned from risk management implementation and practice. Speakers will share their own experience and propose strategies to facilitate a shift from crisis management to formal and well-executed risk management within MFIs. Attendees will be provided with tangible strategies and that can be applied elsewhere in their practice, including the role RIM’s Risk Management Graduation Model can play in shifting perspectives towards more fundamentally sound, forward-looking risk management.
